I’ve been practicing acupuncture and Chinese Medicine for more than 25 years, and I’m still completely hooked.
Chinese Medicine has never asked me to flatten people into neat little categories. It understands us as multidimensional beings, and I like a medicine roomy enough for the whole person.
I’m especially interested in the things that don’t quite fit. Often the useful clue is the detail someone nearly leaves out because it seems unrelated. I like figuring out what connects and why. Sometimes the answer is obvious. Sometimes it’s been hiding behind the couch.
I’ve treated a lotta bit of everything: pain, injuries, headaches, digestive issues, sleep problems, stress, hormonal changes, chronic and complicated conditions, and plenty of things without a useful label. Menopause and women’s health is my specialty, but I love the range of general practice. After 25 years, I’ve got an eclectic bag of tricks.
I spent nine years working as a first responder. It taught me to stay steady when things get weird, pay attention to what is actually happening, and listen closely. I still use those skills every day.
My style is straightforward and curious. I’ll tell you what I’m seeing and often come back to something you mentioned in passing. You don’t need to organize the story for me. I’d rather hear it the way it is.
Water is where I’m happiest, usually with my dog, Ace, somewhere in the picture. I kayak, swim in cold water, and follow whatever catches my curiosity. Medicine, nature, strange stories, mysteries, unexplained things. If I don’t understand it, there’s a decent chance I’m going to want to.
After all these years, Chinese Medicine still feels like home. It leaves room for complexity,
individuality, curiosity, mystery, and surprise.
So there’s room for you, too. Bring me the whole story. I’m looking forward to getting my hands on it.
